The Many Moods of Color

Here at Sandau Fine Art Gallery at 461 W. 200 S, in Vernal, Utah, we feature four wonderful paintings this coming week, two each from our visiting artists Garth Harrison and Cheryl Livingston-Young.

The first from Cheryl Livingston-Young is an original 12x16 oil painting titled “Wood-Duck”. This is a beautiful painting with a variety of alluring greens and yellows in the water, sky and foliage, contrasted against muted browns and purples in the trunks rocks and shadows.

Our next painting is by the artist Garth Harrison titled “Table Fruit”. This is an original 16 x 20 oil painting with deep dark, rich tones and exquisite composition. This still-life has perfect balance and lighting.

The other offering this week from Cheryl Livingston Young is a 12 x 16 original oil painting titled “Quiet Place”. The cool tones of the water are kissed by the warm tones of a setting sun through peach and purple colored clouds.

For our last work this week is an original 12 x 16 oil painting by Garth Harrison titled “Morning Fog”. This winter-scape features three loose stacks of hay with an old-fashioned hay-derrick. Cool purple and blue hues in the shadows are offset by the warm tones of the hay highlighted by morning sun.
