Serene
We have two works we are featuring this week at Sandau Fine Art Gallery at 461 W. 200 S, in Vernal, Utah.
The first piece is from artist, Garth Harrison titled “Last Rays of Day”. This is a large 18 x 24 original oil painting in brilliant colors! As the sun sets behind the wood covered hills in the background, the last light of day touches the tops of the trees illuminating their leaves in a vivid array of green. Reflected in the slow moving river-water, the trees and red blooming bushes create an entrancing scene.
Our other piece of featured artwork this week is by artist Cheryl Livingston-Young. This is an 11x14 original oil painting on canvas titled “Pelicans”. In this serene composition, a few sun-rimmed cottonwood trees, together with the underlying yellow-green grasses, are reflected in the placid blue water. In the mid-ground of the painting, two snow-white pelicans are seen drifting in the water far to the left while soft pastel tones sketch the outlines of the distant hills and mountains near the back of the image.
Cows and Cliffs
We’ve just hung our new show with the artists Cheryl Livingston-Young and Garth Harrison here at Sandau Fine Art Gallery at 461 W. 200 S, in Vernal, Utah! We’re pleased to have these two wonderful artists here in our gallery.
“The Bell”
This week we are featuring two of their pieces. The first is called “The Bell”, an original 20”x20” oil painting on canvas by Cheryl Livingston-Young. This wonderfully painted milk cow sports a large brass bell on a thick leather collar around her furry neck. Wild flowers grace the grassy field where she feeds while steep mountain-climbs dressed in evergreens rise in the background.
“Anvil Butte”
Our other piece for this week is by Garth Harrison titled “Anvil Butte”. It’s an original oil painting on masonite measuring 12”x16”. There is a wonderful late evening color palette with warm oranges and greens offset by the blue cloud-laden sky. This
majestic monolith, of massive sandstone, juts into the sky while scattered boulders litter the siltstone slops below.
