Vines, Train Cars, and Badland Topography

This week we are featured three art pieces here at Sandau Fine Art Gallery at 461 W 200 S, in Vernal, Utah.

First we have a 18”x24” original watercolor piece by Jeanne Newman titled “Vine Covered House”. This is a very detailed work of a beautiful  vibrant Bougainvillea vine covering a house in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. This thorny ornamental vine is covered with deep-red blossoms among the green sunlit leaves. The rich greens are complimented by the dark brown vine-wood and the blue sky above as reflected in the windows.

The next work we are featuring is that of artist and photographer Ken Casady with a 28.5”x40” metal print titled “Rusty Boxcar”. Captured in Wyoming, this artistic rendering of a photographic image has the eye-catching complimentary colors of turquoise and rusty-browns and oranges. The old train-car has seen a lot of miles and a lot of weather.

The last image is one I took of badland topography south of Vernal, Utah in the White River area. This 26”x18” image is printed on archival photo paper and framed in matching hand painted frame. It’s an artistic edit with a birds eye view looking straight down on the sediments of an ancient Eocene landscape created by paleo streams, lakes, and rivers.
